The numbing denial washes over us like lightning rain. The blue sky littered with clouds calls out. The person we thought we knew though merely stands there, struck with a feeling of detachment.

The world is a big place. The tears that we manufacture every single day would be enough to flood the earth. So we cry, just enough to balance out the happiness.

Nothing will ever be enough to fill the holes. The holes that make their way into our hearts and infiltrate every part of us. Even with the missing piece back in its place, life will never again be complete.
