attachments

People weave in and out of our lives all the time. The attachments we develop become us, and forge a path for what comes next. The people who matter – they start to transform our lives from the beginning, but when they decide to walk out on everything we have built together, we become a dreary tangle of near-perfect memories and old times. And at times, it strikes us we should let them go before we might truly lose them. But it’s enough to have them subside only in our memories as a reminder of what we used to have. So no matter how much it chips away at us, nothing will match the pain of watching them slowly walk out of our lives. So we grasp onto what we have left, and let them go with open arms.
