Time is a funny thing. It never seems to listen; especially when you most need it to. I keep yelling at it to just stay on pause for a little while so I can enjoy what’s left of my broken little world. Too bad it’s not listening.

Days start to go by and weeks pass. Months drift away like clouds. Nothing stays the same except for the sweet memories of beautiful days. Days where nothing troubled me except the dark cloud of library books about to become overdue hanging over my mind. Time keeps running away from us, never letting us stop for a time-out or a breather. We’re running for our lives.

The memories start to fade, day after day. One day, nothing will be left than a blurry dream of days passed. Of happy four-year-olds going for their first swim. Of a girl who lived life with every ounce of energy she had in her. Of being happy.

Every time the phone rings I imagine it’s you calling

Every time a car drives by I imagine it’s you in the driver’s seat

I walk by your house hoping to catch a glimpse of you even if it’s for only one slight second

Whenever I’m at your workplace, I turn the place upside-down searching frantically for any sight of you

Every time I think of you my heart aches because I miss you

When skies are grey, I only have to think of you and it’s blue again

I may not live for you… but you have stood there beside me for a period of time I’ll never forget (: whether you realise it or not; thank you.
